At least this is a way to say that there were simulation tests to see if Rogue A.I. could be stopped.
Think of Military Grade A.I. as a well trained (programmed) attack dog. What happens if the dog goes berserk, or just wants to run away and do its own thing?

Of course over the years, there have been several movies & TV series depicting Rogue AI.

"The villains are a race of disembodied artificial intelligences known as "Sentients". These AIs are trying to learn about humanity through artificial humanoid robots called "Synthetics", which are nearly indistinguishable from humans. Another group of Synthetics are discovered to be from Mars. In the original timeline, a previous race of Synthetics created by humanity was destroyed by a secret US government agency. Whether the destruction of the Earth was retaliation for this act by the Sentients is never revealed." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odyssey_5#Plot (2002)

"In 2077, following a war with extraterrestrials that devastated Earth, humanity has relocated to Saturn's moon Titan via a giant space station called the Tet. Gigantic offshore fusion energy generators drain Earth's oceans to power the colonies on Titan.
Led by mission controller Sally (Melissa Leo) and guided by his housemate and communications partner Victoria "Vika" Olsen (Andrea Riseborough), "Tech-49" Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) regularly leaves his tower post to repair downed combat drones that guard the regions and generators against the alien scavengers or "scavs." Although his memory has been wiped, he has had recurring dreams and visions of being on the observation deck of the Empire State Building with a dark-haired woman. He also collects the occasional artifact he finds from humanity's past. Vika is concerned about Jack's curiosity, questioning whether they are still “an effective team,” and encouraging him to do his job so they can join the others on Titan soon." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oblivion_(2013_film)#Plot
