Some people still believe that there aren't enough nuclear+power plants on the planet. That more could be built in seismic and ecological areas.

Some people don't even think that it's necessary to immediately inform the public. Who would benefit from this? Certainly not an uninformed public, but so much big money is involved.
Fortunately, the public knew fairly quickly about the Three+Mile+Island+accident in 1979.
