"Allen worked on a simulator for the Altair while Gates developed the interpreter, and it worked flawlessly when they demonstrated it to MITS in March 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico."
The Windows, Microsoft_Logo is a little similar to the 4 corner states on a map.

The Four_Corners area have been a special place for government research, like the IBM_Roadrunner & other corporate entities for the past several decades. Officially, the W7 logo doesn't symbolize the four-coners-of-earth. The 4 corners of a Sphere is an old mystical & religious concept. Even today, not that many people think beyond the parameters of their 3-D world. Thus, so many don't fully realize the implications of an Oracle or a Crystal ball. How did people in ancient times get the idea of seeing 3-D & even 4-D images in a sphere? There was no reference to movies & HDTV back then. Yet, somehow the ancient human mind could ponder the concept of seeing visions inside of an imaging sphere. This W7 logo just happens to look like a crystal ball with a fluctuating 4 Quadrant grid.

{Paul Allen was hired into MITS,[27] and Gates took a leave of absence from Harvard to work with Allen at MITS in Albuquerque in November 1975. They named their partnership "Micro-Soft" and had their first office located in Albuquerque.[27] Within a year, the hyphen was dropped, and on November 26, 1976, the trade name "Microsoft" was registered with the Office of the Secretary of the State of New Mexico.[27] Gates never returned to Harvard to complete his studies.} http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gates#BASIC
