GORT and the nano-spiders...
Did some people in ancient times see something like a GORT? Similar ancient drawings have been seen in ancient art.
"Genetically Organized Robotic Technology"
Meet the nano-spiders:
The DNA robots that could one day be walking through your body.

Eventually some A.I. machines could become a combination of synthetic genomic animation & DNA.
Synthetic Biochemical Life

Eventually a synthetic artificial_limb could be developed. While it would be nice to have the technology to grow a new limb, replacing lost limbs with synthetic living material may happen first.

{Jack_E._Steele-"his main focus was on bionics, a term he coined in 1958. The term was officially used in 1960 as the title of a three-day symposium in September of that year.
His work on bionics, and the USAF research on cyborgs, caught the attention of SF writer and aviation expert Martin Caidin, whose 1972 book Cyborg makes explicit reference to then-Major Jack Steele. The book formed the basis of the TV series The_Six_Million_Dollar_Man (and spinoff The Bionic Woman), which popularized, if somewhat inaccurately, the term bionics. (Dr Steele's original meaning was the study of biological organisms to find solutions to engineering problems, a field now also known as biomimetics.) also see http://amal.net/?tag=biometrics
After retiring from the Air_Force, Dr. Steele continued to practice medicine with a focus on psychiatry, and served as Medical Director of the Comprehensive Drug Dependency Treatment Program at the Dayton Mental Health Center, where he worked for 20 years until retirement. Dr. Steele died in Dayton, Ohio on 19 January 2009 after a protracted illness."} http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_E._Steele

Blade Runner Sky Cars, etc.
Albert Robida:Futuristic_Trilogy
The_Circles_of_Power, The_Fifth_Element & Blade Runner all provide excellent visuals of how sky cars could interact with GPS navigation & virtual buffers.
The Blade Runner Spinner car:

Such a cars would not only have an integrated computer, but in some cases, its own chauffeur Data unit. But don't expect to see anyone like Brent Spiner in a Spinner just yet. Part of the mythology of the Greys involves a similar concept. Some are bio-mechanical beings that are a part of the ship.

Blade+Runner like The+Terminator movies, provided a fine example of robots being camouflaged as humans.
