This is such a fantastic alien or entity Sci-Fi take over story. The human herd is oblivious to a covert infiltration and takeover malevolent beings. Are they intelligent sinister ET monsters or demons from another dimension?
Are they from a different level of reality from which they view the earth and this universe as something like a simulation?
Of course any book, movie or TV production can be interpreted in various ways.
