Whenever there is more than one director on a production, there are bound to be some key differences.

The Joker has become the quintessential clown and monster.

Perhaps the IT character is even darker and more dangerous than the Joker.

Justice League Snyder Cut and B&W Version

Of course digital movie tech can be B&W.

A black-and-white_film has a certain type of style and texture to it. Thus, 21st century black-and-white_films still have an audience. There seems to be no slowing down of_black-and-white_productions. So its no surprise that ZS will offer a black-and-white version of his cut.

"Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice is Gray is officially coming to HBO Max. The black & white edition of the movie is Snyder's definitive version." https://screenrant.com/zack-snyder-justice-league-gray-black-white-hbo-max

Zack Snyder Doesn't Want to Make Another Comic Book Movie

"Zack Snyder says that he is not interested in making anymore comic book adaptations at the moment, but does know a few he would like to do." https://screenrant.com/zack-snyder-comic-book-movie-future-plans-response

"It's been revealed that Zack Snyder's Justice League will end on a cliffhanger that's likely to never be resolved, but it's a necessary evil." https://screenrant.com/justice-league-zack-snyder-cliffhanger-no-sequel-why

While it's understandable that ZS isn't interested in doing any more comic book movies in the near future, he certainly has quite a unique way in depicting such characters.
