Books, Movies and TV...

 https://medium.com/@Jamiesgt/blu-rays-and-their-special-features-769f78bbf66f

Although this article is from 2019, its just as important as ever. Of course digital streaming and e-books are quick and convenient, its still good to have a tactile copy of some things. So while a digital library is great, having a hard copy of something is still very important. Especially in the era of Cancel+Culture.

There is always the potential for public access data to be sent down the Memory_hole.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_hole#Origins

"Fahrenheit 451 is a computer strategy game released in 1984 based on the 1953 novel of the same name by Ray Bradbury." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrenheit_451_(video_game)

"The captain lectures him about the books and pulls a last book from Montag's coat, for which Montag kills him with the flamethrower. He escapes and finds the book people, where he views his "capture" on television, staged to keep the masses entertained and because the government doesn't want it to be known that he is alive. Montag selects a book to memorise, Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe, and becomes one of the book people." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrenheit_451_(1966_film)#Plot

As long as there are free thinking people, various books and information can be remembered. This is still a good idea in this digital age because the memory+hole is always waiting to destroy more information.

So while Ebooks and digital archives can be great in general, there is always the potential for some items to become digital kindling.

Listening to CDs and vinyl, etc.

Even the DVD was phased out quite a while ago. However, its important to try to keep all or as many data storage formats as much as possible. This is now an era when almost anything can be sent down the memory hole to be forgotten about. Any digitally stored data can be turned into digital kindling as a new version of book burning.

Still such a cool song & video by Ice-T distributing music & information, long before the days of peer-to-peer_file_sharing.

Stephen King gives blunt three-word response after discovering Florida banned 23 of his books in schools

The memory hole alternative is always favoured by the A-Holes and censor freaks in general. Certain books & other media can have a warning on them and that should be it.

From the Amusement Park to the Amusement Park Planet

The Amusement_Park concept has a long history.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amusement_park#Origins

If there could eventually be hotels in space and potentially on other worlds, then why not amusement parks as well? If there are other high-tech civilizations that have been around for a very long time, what might their amusement parks be like? A very advanced civilization might even create some amusement park size worlds. That's what a classic Star Trek episode is about. The landing party is lead down the rabbit hole of a Mixed_reality world.

In Shore_Leave_(Star_Trek:_The_Original_Series), a landing party doesn't realize that they are on an amusement park planet.

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Shore_Leave_(episode)

The Shore_Leave_Planet is a little like Forbidden_Planet, but with a lot more safety features so that it doesn't become, a planet of doom. Indeed, a planet run by a quantum computer-mediated_reality could take Augmented_Reality, Virtual_Reality, robotics and printed matter into a simulated or hyper-reality world. However, that still remains as just another intriguing science fiction concept.
