What is reality & how is all this cosmic information stored?
There could be many-worlds & levels within the Cosmos. VR technology has a long way to go until it attains what's depicted in some movies. Of course the universe might actually be a super advanced cosmic VR program. See: Michael_Talbot_(author)#The_Holographic_Universe &
http://www.theuniversesolved.com
Indeed, Jim Elvidge has quite a unique book & web site that provides compelling data about reality.
http://www.theuniversesolved.com/news.htm

Hopefully, many more people will start to ponder the notion of a Cosmic Operating System, figuratively or literally.
Detailed simulations of the Earth, this galaxy & even vast parts of the known universe can be constructed. Its just a matter of how much accurate data can be entered into a Sim program. Obviously, the closer to earth the more accurate such simulations can be.

Eventually these simulations could become very realistic & cause many more people to wonder if they are already in simulation created by someone else?

Indeed, most religions imply that a creator or force has already constructed the universe. Such an immensity of data would have to be organized like cosmic computer programs in the sky. The concept of Akashic_records has been around thousands of years before the development of Virtual Reality & the avatar-machine. Holographic-environments exist in a way & in a way they don't, its a quantum sort of thing.

Ashoka_Chakra ,
http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/history/bud_wheel.htm

In ancient times, it would be difficult for most people to grasp the concept of a crystal ball. 3D images in a sphere or ovals are depicted on this disc of lives from the 1200s. These life experiences are part of the wheel of Karma concept. It could also be seen as an ancient depiction of a cosmic hard drive. Reincarnation#Buddhism & the big interactive recording of space & time.
http://www.harekrsna.com/philosophy/truth/karma.htm ,
http://www.buddhanet.net/wheel2.htm
This ancient wheel is depicting a video-disk. Its full of bubble images of various life experiences.
Douglas Trumbull would later expand on this image bubble concept in the movie, Brainstorm.
The Multiverse Disc Theory is just the modern version of the wheel of time & space concept.

Metaphor: Suppose a galaxy is essentially like a giant holographic_disc of space-time & other forms of data. There is shape & form that's like a pattern & program, so then what if the universe or cosmos is like a vast hard drive?

Then several of these HDs could be part of a multiverse. The wheel of karma is an ancient concept & eventually VR programs could simulate vast parts of the known universe. What's astounding is that several people since ancient times believe that a creator has started everything in the cosmos. So, if that's the case, then the whole thing is running like an immense & intricate cosmic program. Several scientists already have arrived at this conclusion. They just view nature & the cosmos as a running program without a creator. Whether by chance or created design, the universe is running like a well organized system.

-

The oval & the spiral are found throughout nature & space.

Some how since ancient times, humans have associated the shape of the wheel or disc as being connected to transportation & information.

Infinite Worlds: A Journey through Parallel Universes and the Multiverse

Whether it's one or many, it's a very ancient cosmos.

Of course various simulations can be run on the+multiverse hypothesis, but so much of the data is speculative. Nevertheless, interesting clues might be revealed.

One earth, but in how many time lines? A universe or a multiverse cosmos?

Have some RESEARCHERS been urged to stop investigating whether our universe is a simulation, or a cosmic creation?

https://www.express.co.uk/news/science/1165219/simulation-theory-matrix-are-we-in-a-simulation-nick-bostrom-universe-news

The world has been a confusing and dangerous place for a long time. Apparently, some people still want the majority of the population to not be that interested in questioning their existence and this world.

However, various people have been questioning, The Nature Of Reality (TNOR) since ancient times.
https://tocuz.com/czechrepublic/can-the-simulation-hypothesis-destroy-the-entire-universe

Simply because they have a genuine curiosity to explore reality.

Legends and myths help people to think about larger aspects of existence and reality. Why do most cultures and civilizations since ancient times have a sense of this world as being part of some cosmic constructed reality?

The MATRIX movies, etc., are an extension of the Cyberpunk world, universe and multiverse.
https://www.neondystopia.com/what-is-cyberpunk

"2019 marks the 20th anniversary of what is arguably one of the best Science fiction movies ever made - The Matrix. It popularized an ancient idea that the world we live in may not be real. In other words, our world is just an illusion, a simulation -- a video game. So, Are we really living in a video game? Game industry veteran Rizwan (Riz) Virk believes this could be true."

Whether this world  is a simulation, or part of a cosmic creation, could there be some adjustments, or editing of history and other things?

What's The Possibility of All Theories Becoming a Reality in the Multiverse?

At the end of the day, or near the end of one's life, several people just never have paid that much attention to synchronicity or the cosmic simulation concept.

https://www.reddit.com/r/philosophy/comments/q79dth/simulation_theory_is_a_useless_perhaps_even/

Of course whether reality is limited to a universe, or something like a multiverse, that's just too much data to be accurately be interpolated in a simulation. Exploring the nature of reality isn't just a thought experiment. It's about trying to decipher an immense puzzle, enigma and mystery.

https://www.reddit.com/r/space/comments/exf6m2/never_forget_you_are_here Even a simulation of this galaxy has too many unkowns and variables.

However, it's so much easier to create various Earth based simulations, but that in of itself still might not provide definitive proof of a cosmic simulation.

Do Some Theories That Prove Time Travel Exists?

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzPIYHWTplk

The type of time+travel depicted in books, movies and TV productions remains as Sci-Fi entertainment. However, the curiosity of time travel need not be limited to only science or just fiction.

The_Time_Machine and Beyond_the_Time_Barrier were both released in 1960. Even though the special effects from 1960 might be quite limited when compared to the special effects used in the 2020s, these time travel movies still provide an entertaining visual story.

If the universe is an immense data-field of energy, matter, spacetime and information, then in effect, it could be like a cosmic library of sorts. If two way time travel is ever proven to be possible, then the universe would be like an interactive projection and recording. The time travelers depicted in science-fiction are essentially accessing certain points in the time and space recording.
